From little things, great homes grow
A light switch here. A lemon tree over there. It’s the little things that turn a house into a truly supportive home. Co-design isn’t a checkbox. It’s the Nesti promise.
Creating home environments that cater to the diverse wants and wishes of people with disabilities is a core tenet of our business, and informs every design decision we make along the way.
Synonymous with inclusion
Our co-design approach means we don’t just ask for feedback after the walls go up. We bring participants, families, and support networks into the design process. The result? Homes that feel grounded, not generic.
In the past, participants have asked for a view to watch the world go by. So, we lowered the windows and brought the outdoors in. Others have requested a communal chef's kitchen. So, we lengthened the automated island bench.
The thing is, we love these kinds of customisations. Because the home then becomes yours to enjoy, to the fullest.
We build with heart and co-design with intention. No matter the funding type or support level, every person deserves a home that works for them.
Project framework
Every SDA project is shaped by a trademark Nesti framework and design philosophy that considers local supports, community access, and (of course) future tenants themselves.
Project steps can include:
• Steering groups to understand SDA demand
• SDA design category and building type needs
• Consultancy on design preferences, elements, and inclusions
• Construction updates
• Family and stakeholder management
• Dwelling enrolment, audits, and compliance
• Transition support
Powerful partnerships
As proud locals, we place a strong emphasis on SDA partnerships that align to our values. In our extensive experience, this leads not only to the highest craft of purpose-built housing, but genuinely creates welcoming, vibrant spaces that reflect the needs and wishes of every resident.
